The Hinton Lecture is the flagship annual lecture of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Professor Lord Mair CBE FREng FRS, Sir Kirby Laing Professor of Civil Engineering and Head of Civil Engineering at the University of Cambridge will give this year's lecture.
The lecture will highlight the key role of geotechnical engineering. Examples of projects from around the world, including the Crossrail project currently under construction in London, will demonstrate the size, technical challenges and complexity of modern underground construction.
